RYA Youth Sailing Stage 4 – Double-Handed Sailing & Advanced Boat Handling
Stage 4 introduces sailors to double-handed boats, where teamwork and communication become key. Young sailors learn how to rig, launch, and sail with a crew, developing more advanced boat-handling techniques and greater on-water awareness.
Course highlights:
• Rigging and launching a double-handed dinghy
• Helming and crewing roles
• Working with a jib and using the mainsail effectively
• Enhanced boat control in a team setting
• Manoeuvring around a course with precision
By the end of the course, participants will be able to sail a double-handed dinghy competently as both helm and crew, preparing them for the RYA Advanced Modules.
Expert instruction from our qualified, DBS-checked team ensures a supportive, safe, and fun learning environment throughout the course.
Adverse Weather and Reserve Days
All Aboard Watersports reserves the right to postpone or cancel a session in the event of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control that may affect safety or the quality of instruction.
Our Youth RYA Sailing and Powerboating courses are advertised as one or two-day courses with a reserve day built in, which will routinely be the Friday of the same week, unless otherwise stated. If we need to cancel a day of the advertised course, the cancelled day will automatically be rescheduled for this reserve day.
Participants are expected to keep the reserve day free when booking a course. If a participant is unable to attend the rescheduled session, we will do our best to offer an alternative date, but this cannot be guaranteed.
