RYA Youth Sailing Stage 3 – Confident, Independent Sailing
Stage 3 is designed to give young sailors the skills to sail independently in moderate conditions. Children learn how to sail efficiently around a course, control speed, and make more accurate manoeuvres while gaining a deeper understanding of wind and boat trim.
Course highlights:
• Rigging and launching without assistance
• Sailing efficiently upwind and downwind
• Improving boat balance, trim, and speed control
• Advanced tacking and gybing
• Coming alongside and controlled stopping
By the end of the course, participants will be capable of sailing a dinghy independently in various directions, demonstrating good control, awareness, and confidence.
Expert tuition from our qualified, DBS-checked instructors ensures young sailors continue to progress in a safe and encouraging environment, using a well-maintained modern dinghy fleet.
Adverse Weather and Reserve Days
All Aboard Watersports reserves the right to postpone or cancel a session in the event of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control that may affect safety or the quality of instruction.
Our Youth RYA Sailing and Powerboating courses are advertised as one or two-day courses with a reserve day built in, which will routinely be the Friday of the same week, unless otherwise stated. If we need to cancel a day of the advertised course, the cancelled day will automatically be rescheduled for this reserve day.
Participants are expected to keep the reserve day free when booking a course. If a participant is unable to attend the rescheduled session, we will do our best to offer an alternative date, but this cannot be guaranteed.
