This two-day entry level Powerboat Level 2 course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

All-Aboard offer a completely unique Powerboat 2 course experience in Bristol Harbour as we train you in a variety of types of powerboats, including a : RIB, Pioneer, Yak and Jeanneau.

This course provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.

Preparation

 Boat Handling and Manoeuvres

  • Effects of current or tide
  • Planning and low speed manoeuvring
  • Propeller controls
  • Securing to a buoy
  • Anchoring
  • Man overboard

Theory and Background

    • Types of craft and engine
    • Maintenance checks
    • IRPCS
    • Emergency action

On completion of this course you will have gained the ability to handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day, you will be a self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, and aware of the limitations of the craft and your own skill.

Please note: two days is the minimum time required to complete the course. The actual time required depends on ability and weather conditions on the day. A certificate will only be issued if you have demonstrated the ability to complete the syllabus inappropriate weather conditions. If needed, please speak to the office about organising an extra session to complete the course.

*Please bring a passport photograph along with you on the second day for the licence*

We will also need the address, date of birth and email addresses for all participants in order to issue licences.
