This Christmas, give a child the chance to sail or try another watersport at All Aboard Watersports, through our new ‘Learn to Sail with Santa’ initiative.
What your donation funds and why it matters
Are your organisation looking to support a local charity? Or perhaps you would prefer to gift your ‘secret Santa’ a small but meaningful gift this year?
Whatever, the reason, and no matter how small your donation, it will help us.
It will help fund a child who would not normally have access to watersports; build resilience, teach them new skills, support their learning and grow their confidence.
Who would the beneficiaries be?
Sense, Charlton Farm Children’s Hospice South West, Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Access Sport are a handful of some of the charities that we have run funded projects for over the past year. But we would use any money raised to fund individuals as well as charities.
About All Aboard Watersports
We are a charity whose goal is to enable personal development and fulfilment for all through access to water based activities. Our aim is that at least 50% of our participants are those who identify as having a disability, long term health condition, encounter social isolation or socio-economic disadvantage, or have other limitations to access the water.
Over time, sessions have expanded to include sailing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boat building, rowing, paddleboarding and powerboating, all run by our highly trained team of instructors, staff and volunteers.

Hear what our beneficiaries have to say
“Giving our families the opportunity to attend sessions at All Aboard Watersports is absolutely vital. It allows them to do something as a family which due to the often complex medical needs of the child and the logistical challenges involved in moving all of their vital equipment is something families rarely get to do.
All of the feedback from families that have been on one of the wonderful boat trips highlights the sensory and calming effect the water and noise has on the whole family but in particular the children.
Getting involved with All Aboard has without doubt been one of the most positive things we’ve done in the past 18 months and we hope to build on this fantastic partnership for many years to come“
Matt Norman, Operations Lead, Charlton Farm Children’s Hospice
‘It’s vital to allow children and young people from our community to have opportunities such as sailing and other water sports. For many of them its often the first time they have ever been to the waterside let alone on the water.
If it was not for All Aboard they would never get these opportunities; its vital that we are able to continue to work in partnership to provide them. Every session is fun and engaging from the get-go and All Aboard provides a safe place to allow our the children and young people the confidence to be on the water, with many then wanted to continue coming.
It really does help reduce the barriers that families from our communities often face.
Zak Dugdale, Senior Community Co-ordinator, Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership
Sense have been bringing groups of children with complex disabilities to All Aboard Watersports for the last 3 summers. The sessions allow children with very complex needs the opportunity to try brand new activities that they never thought they would be able to do. The accessible boats and patient, knowledgeable staff provide a totally inclusive and safe environment and ensure that all of their needs are met.
Watersports activities offer the children we support so many benefits, such as improving their coordination, teamwork and communication skills and also providing opportunities to meet new people and learn new skills.
There are also many mental health benefits, with many parents reporting reduction in stress and anxiety levels and a noticeable calming effect when children are out on the water.
Alice Turner, Active Lifestyles Lead (South West) Sense
