Sailability
Our Sailability sessions are designed to enable people with disabilities or additional support needs to access sailing and to experience the joy of being out on the water. Whether you wish to learn to sail independently or bring a “buddy” to sail with you, we can help you on your journey.
Specialised equipment
We offer single and double handed sailing in Hansa 303 “Access” dinghies, and we can cater for small groups of up to 6 people in our more traditional Devon Day boat. We also have Oxford hoists to enable those with little mobility to easily and safely get into the dinghies.
Expert support
If you want to sail but are nervous of sailing on your own, we offer support and will endeavour to provide an instructor or experienced sailor to go with you. We use the “Access” dinghies for independent sailing and have dinghies which have the option to be fitted with electric hand controls if you have little strength or mobility in your upper limbs.
Sailablity sessions
These sessions are run by experienced and qualified volunteers, twice a week during the season.
Saturday Sessions
Our Saturday, Sailability sessions run every Saturday from 11th April to 17th October, 2026 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Sailing starts at 10.30am and runs in parallel to our Paddleability and Powerability sessions.
Tuesday Sessions
Our Tuesday Sailability sessions are better for participants with Learning Disabilities or those who are on the Autistic Spectrum, as the sessions are quieter and can accommodate complex needs.
We ask for a donation of £8 per participant, carer goes free. Siblings are welcome, we appreciate a donation for their attendance.
