Paddleability
Our Paddleability sessions get people with disabilities or additional support needs out paddling and experiencing the joy of being out on the water.
Our adapted craft
Our Katakanus are very stable tandem canoes, perfect for beginners and those wanting to paddle as a group. We have Sit-on-top kayaks and Canadian canoes, as well as a Sit-In kayak, all of our craft can be fitted with stabilisers for those who find balance challenging. You can either go out in a supported group, or with friends or a “buddy” where appropriate.
Specialist equipment
We have wrist straps to support grips, cushions and wedges for support and have recently received a versa paddle which holds the paddle for those with shoulder weakness or the use of one hand. We also have Oxford hoists to enable those with little mobility to easily and safely get into the boats.
Saturday sessions
Our Paddleability sessions run on Saturday mornings. They start at 10.15am but if you are new, you’ll be invited to come down at 9.45am, so that we can assess which craft is best for you. Click here to view these dates and for more information on Paddleability.
Please book ahead by emailing [email protected].
