This two-day entry level Powerboat Level 2 course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

All-Aboard offer a completely unique Powerboat 2 course experience in Bristol Harbour as we train you in a variety of types of powerboats, including a : RIB, Pioneer, Yak and Jeanneau.

This course focuses on:

  • Launching and recovery, including man-overboard
  • Close quarters boat handling
  • Securing to a buoy and anchoring
  • Planning speed and manoeuvres
  • Collision regulations

On completion of this course you will have gained the ability to handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day, you will be a self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, and aware of the limitations of the craft and your own skill.

Please note: two days is the minimum time required to complete the course. The actual time required depends on ability and weather conditions on the day. A certificate will only be issued if you have demonstrated the ability to complete the syllabus in appropriate weather conditions. If needed, please speak to the office about organising an extra session to complete the course.

What to bring with you

  • Please wear old clothes as you may get wet
  • A change of clothes/ Towel
  • Swimwear to wear under a wetsuit
  • Appropriate footwear: non -slip, closed toe shoes or trainers that you don’t mind getting wet
  • Warm/ waterproof clothing, including hat and gloves if the weather is cold, wet or windy.
  • Sun cream/sunhat if the weather is sunny and hot
  • A packed lunch if you are on an all-day course or activity
