Have you ever wanted to have a go at paddle sports?  Our taster days are the ideal opportunity to try this exhilarating activity out! They are aimed at people with little or no experience of paddling ranging through from complete beginners, to those wishing to get back on to the water after an extended break, or for those who already have the basics and would just like a little bit more practice.

This day will be run in individual kayaks however if you are in a household you will be able to use our Katakanus or Canadian canoes.

Our passionate, fully qualified, experienced instructors will take you through the day, getting you out on to the water in Bristol’s historic harbour and paddling confidently, safely under supervision.

What to bring with you

COVID-19 Update: Our changing rooms, kitchen, lockers, waterproofs and wetsuits aren’t available at the moment, so please arrive ready and eager!  When you arrive please make your way around to the back of the Centre where you will be met by one of our friendly instructors 🙂 We’ll do our best to make sure your session goes ahead, however if restrictions mean that your session cannot take place then you will be contacted via email to let you know and you’ll be given some of options to think over.

  • Please wear old clothes as you may get wet
  • A change of clothes / Towel
  • Swimwear to wear under a wetsuit
  • Appropriate footwear: non -slip, closed toe shoes or trainers that you don’t mind getting wet
  • Warm/ waterproof clothing, including hat and gloves if the weather is cold, wet or windy.
  • Sun cream/sunhat if the weather is sunny and hot
  • A packed lunch if you are on an all-day course or activity
