Ever heard of Cornish Gig Rowing? Well why not come and give it a go with us for free.

Unlike rowing you see in the Olympics, Cornish gig rowing uses a six oared rowing boat, which means the boats are much more stable which makes it a perfect relaxed and sociable team sport. With an opportunity to become part of a thriving community of Cornish Gig Rowers in the southwest aged 50+, this session gives you a taster of a very addictive sport!

When you arrive, you will have time to fill in your registration form and to enjoy a cup of tea with your instructor. They will talk with you about the session and make sure you’re fully equipped and ready to head out in Bristol’s iconic harbour.

All of our sessions are led by friendly, experienced instructors who will show you the ropes, keep you safe and make sure you have a great time. All abilities are welcome, from the very first timers to those who love being out on the water.

Thanks to Bristol Ageing Better, our Come On Board sessions are all fully funded and we can provide FREE transport if needed. Contact the office by emailing [email protected] or calling 01179 290801 at the time of booking.

These sessions run from April to October, the month’s that tend to have the best weather and conditions.

Please note some of our Monday evening sessions are Indoor Rowing sessions – these are a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, technique and fitness.

The dates of the evening indoor rowing sessions are:

29th April, 20th May, 17th June, 15th July & 26th August
