Feel closer to Bristol Harbour’s water and wildlife on this free kayaking session. Take part in this low impact, adventurous activity and experience the city like never before, gliding through our iconic harbour on the water. Great for beginners as well as those wishing to improve their paddling techniques, our kayaking sessions are fun, as well as a fantastic way for you to keep active.

When you arrive, you will have time to fill in your registration form and to enjoy a cup of tea with your instructor. They will talk with you about the session and the plans for your paddle, while they get you kitted out and ready to head on to the harbour.

All of our sessions are led by friendly, experienced instructors who will show you the ropes, keep you safe and make sure you have a great time. All abilities are welcome, from the very first timers to those who love being out on the water.

Thanks to Bristol Ageing Better, our Come On Board sessions are all fully funded and we can provide FREE transport if needed.






What to bring with you

  • Please wear old clothes as you may get wet
  • A change of clothes/ Towel
  • Swimwear to wear under a wetsuit
  • Appropriate footwear: non -slip, closed toe shoes or trainers that you don’t mind getting wet
  • Warm/ waterproof clothing, including hat and gloves if the weather is cold, wet or windy.
  • Sun cream/sunhat if the weather is sunny and hot
  • A packed lunch if you are on an all-day course or activity
