RYA Adult Sailing – Level 2 (Basic Skills)
Level 2 builds on the skills introduced in Level 1, giving participants the ability to sail independently in light winds. This course develops core techniques and teaches sailors how to sail on all points of sail with improved control and efficiency.
Course highlights:
• Rigging and launching independently
• Sailing on all points of sail
• Tacking and gybing with accurate technique
• Controlling boat speed and direction
• Essential ropework and basic knots
• Coming alongside and controlled stopping
By the end of the course, participants will be able to sail a dinghy confidently around a set course, make controlled manoeuvres, and handle the boat safely in a wider range of conditions.
Expert tuition from our qualified team ensures you continue progressing in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable atmosphere.
Please note: Due to increased cost pressures, we need a minimum of 2 participants for each session to go ahead.
Adverse Weather and Reserve days
All Aboard Watersports reserves the right to postpone or cancel a session in the event of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control that may affect safety or the quality of instruction.
Our RYA Sailing and Powerboating courses are advertised as two-day courses with a reserve day built in, which will routinely be the following Saturday, unless otherwise stated. If we need to cancel a day of the advertised weekend course, the cancelled day will automatically be rescheduled for this reserve day.
Participants are expected to keep the reserve day free when booking a course. If a participant is unable to attend the rescheduled session, we will do our best to offer an alternative date, but this cannot be guaranteed.
