RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1 – Introduction to Dinghy Sailing
This beginner-level course offers a fun and practical introduction to dinghy sailing. Children learn the key parts of the boat and the core principles of how to get a boat moving under sail, building confidence from the moment they step on the water.
Course highlights:
• Launching and recovering a dinghy
• Sailing across the wind
• Steering and basic turning techniques
• Learning key parts of the boat and essential terminology
By the end of the course, participants will be able to sail across the wind, steer confidently, and understand the basic principles of sailing.
Expert tuition is provided by our qualified, DBS-checked instructors, using a modern fleet of sailing dinghies to ensure a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment.

All Aboard Watersports reserves the right to postpone or cancel a session in the event of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control that may affect safety or the quality of instruction.
Fridays 10.30am to 1pm, £235 for six week course.

RYA Youth Sailing Stage 2 – Developing Core Sailing Skills
This course builds on the fundamentals learned in Stage 1, helping young sailors gain greater confidence and control on the water. Children will further develop their boat-handling skills and learn how to sail more effectively in different directions.
Course highlights:
• Rigging and launching independently
• Sailing on all points of sail
• Tacking and gybing with improved technique
• Basic ropework and essential knots
• Enhanced steering and boat control
By the end of the course, participants will be able to sail confidently around a set course, make controlled turns, and understand how to handle the boat in a wider range of conditions.
