Push the Boat Out

Nearly 400 RYA centres across the UK, are opening their doors for the ‘Push the Boat Out’ Project;  to enable the public to get out on the water and to experience the joy of sailing or windsurfing in May! 

If you have always wanted to try sailing, well now if your chance. All-Aboard! is hosting Push the Boat out Event over 3 days in May to enable novices, individuals with disabilities or those who are wanting to get back into sailing and enjoy the water.  

Dates:

7th May – 10.00 – 12.30pm

This session is for people who wish to have a longer session on the water. Whether you have just started sailing or wanting to come back to sailing, this session is great to you to have time on the water and refresh your skills with the support of an instructor. 26th May – 10.00 – 12.00    [DROP-IN SESSION]

This sessions is predominantly for those with disabilities who wish to sail. With our accessible sailing boats, hoists, and trained volunteers, we can support all needs and enable the individual to enjoy the benefits of sailing. This session is a drop- in session. We understand that it can be difficult for individuals to plan ahead particularly with fluctuating conditions, thus all you have to do is turn up between 10.00 – 12.00 to our centre and we will support you to go on the water. It costs £6 per sailors, carers go free. We will also be offering powerboat trips up Bristol Docks.

 

28th May – 10.30 – 4.30 pm

We are offering hour long slot from 10.30 to 4.30 for FREE. All abilities and ages over 8 years are welcome. We are offering 12 spaces per hourly slot, if you would like to book for place, please click HERE or the blue tab the right. We will try to accommodate anyone who turns up though we cannot guarantee a space. 

 

What to bring with you

  • Change of clothes
  • Towel
  • Appropriate footwear for getting wet
  • Swim-wear to wear under a wetsuit
  • Hat
  • Gloves
  • Sun-cream and sunglasses (if appropriate)
  • (Optional) Your own wetsuit if you have one
  • (Optional) Waterproof jacket

Please note:

Food is not provided. Please either bring your own or there are shops and pubs within walking distance. We have a small kitchen available for use where you can make hot drinks and use a microwave.
